How Steam Account Valuation Works
Steam accounts accumulate value over time through game purchases, badges, and playtime. While selling accounts is against TOS, knowing your account's "street value" is useful for insurance or curiosity.
Key Valuation Factors
- Game Library: The biggest factor. However, accounts don't sell for the full price of games. Usually, it's 10-20% of the library's current store value.
- Account Age: Older accounts (10+ years) have exclusive badges (Year of Service) and are highly sought after for their "low digit" Steam IDs.
- Playtime: High hours in competitive games like CS:GO or Dota 2 can increase value, indicating a legitimate, non-bot account.
What about Skins?
This calculator estimates the value of the account itself. Inventory value (CS:GO skins, TF2 items) should be calculated separately using inventory valuation tools, as those items can be traded away.
